Welcome to the first month of ACI 2!
Hello Parents,
We are excited to begin ACI 2 with your child! We are going to
continue to build on the skills learned in ACI 1 while also introducing new
ideas.
This month, we will be starting our
new ELA book, “Time to Celebrate”. In this book, we will be looking at different
celebrations around the world. This book will teach us about different cultures
while we show our students several different reading and comprehension
strategies. We know your child will
enjoy learning about these special days around the globe.
In math, we are moving into our new unit on Patterning and Place Value. In our new
unit, we will explore number patterns, skip counting, and comparing numbers
using Base Ten Blocks and number lines. Students will become more comfortable
with larger numbers.
This month in science, we will be starting
our Thinking like a Scientist
Unit. This is a great introduction to
the many science activities we have planned for the year. In this unit, we will be introducing our
students to the many different ways scientists work with observation and
understanding in their experiments.
