December Newsletter

Dear Parents,
Students did a wonderful job completing assigned work related to “Animal Look-Alikes”. This month’s E.L.A book is called “Balloons”. Students will be learning about the different uses of balloons and their importance. Students will learn key words related to the theme like gas, matter, inflate, helium and float.  We will also be conducting various science experiments using balloons.

Science: We are continuing our exploration of how animals grow and change, how humans grow and change and how humans affect the world and the life of other animals. This month we will continue discussing fish and endangered animals.

In Math, we will be starting the new unit, Multiplication and Division. We'll learn how to multiply by 2, 5, 10, 1, and 0 and divide by 2, 5, and 10. We'll learn how multiplication is related to addition and also how both multiplication and division are related as well.

Endangered Species Presentations

This month, the students chose and researched an endangered animal to present to the class. Considering the level of the vocabulary and the depth of the research, I was very happy with the presentations. We still need to work on making eye contact with the audience, but I can see a lot of improvement in overall comfort being in front of a camera and an audience. Great job everyone!
